Radical Localization: Yahoo! Japan
As my wife and I prepare ourselves to move back to Japan in about 6 months or so, we have been once again spending time thinking and talking about what is happening in the church world, theological education and technology there. A post on “Why Yahoo Japan is worth nearly as much as Yahoo,” caught my attention this morning. One thing the article did not mention was that in the process of radically localizing Yahoo, the company had hired, recent graduates of leading Universities like Tokyo University (Todai) and had them register quality/academic sites. This means that the search on Yahoo Japan, in Japanese, will produced a better quality of technical/academic links.
